- Bremen start campaign "catch-up"
- Werder awoke from their midwinter slumbers on Monday to prepare for the second half of the season. It was icy in the Weser Stadium as the team started intensive preparations for the second half of the season.
- Terms agreed for Klimowicz transfer from Dortmund to Bochum
- VfL Bochum and Borussia Dortmund have agreed transfer terms that will take Diego Fernando Klimowicz to Bochum where he has signed a contract to mid-2010.
- Pardo leaves VfB
- Obe familiar face was missing as VfB Stuttgart players assembled on Sunday for winter training. Pavel Pardo is still in Mexico and will only return to Stuttgart for a short visit in a few days time before going back to play.

- Known simply as the "Kaiser", Franz Beckenbauer was nearing the end of his unique career when in 1980, he returned to Germany after four years at New York Cosmos.

- The 29 goals that Frankfurt conceded is the highest mid-season total in the club's history.
